Grants and in-kind support to USA nonprofit organizations, for-profits, and individuals to support projects to advance the diversity of PK-12 educators. Funding is intended to recruit, retain, and support BIPOC teachers. In addition to a cash grant, applicants will also receive management assistance. Black, Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander, and Indigenous leaders are highly encouraged to apply.

Management assistance typically includes:

  • One-on-one coaching
  • Communities of practice
  • Consulting support
  • Access to national experts

What is offered:
- Funding: A one-year grant of $150,000 to $250,000, depending on the stage of the organization or idea. After one year, ventures become eligible for additional support.
- Communities of practice: Opportunities to build relationships with and learn from other leaders focused on teacher diversity.
- Management assistance: Access to relevant, timely and customized support from the team and external experts.

For-profits, 501c3 non-profits, fiscally sponsored orgs and individuals that are working towards securing their non-profit or for-profit status may apply.

- Initiatives within a single charter school or network
- Policy efforts or campaigns
- University-based programs

Pre-proposal Conference:

Through the annual Teacher Diversity funding opportunity, NSVF will invest in innovators with bold ideas to recruiting Black, Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander and Indigenous teachers and/or supporting teachers of color so they remain in the field longer. Office hours are informal and a time for you to ask any questions you have regarding the grant opportunity or application. It is strongly suggested that you attend or view a recording of the webinar prior to joining the office hours, as many of your questions may be addressed there. You are encouraged to register for this event so that NSVF has a sense for your questions and can follow up with you after the session.
