Fellowships of up to $1,000 to USA, Canada, and International individual students and student groups to develop projects addressing water issues in their communities. Projects may cover a broad range of topics, including beachfront clean-up, community education programs, and school water bottle-filling stations.

The FBYC Fellowship Program provides mentorship and grants to young people who are developing projects that address water-related challenges in their local communities. 

Fellowship Goals:

  • Educating the public about a water-related problem
  • Engaging others in activities that address the water issue
  • Advocating creative and realistic solutions to the issue

Fellowship participants receive:

  • Grant money
  • Access to a community of other grantees
  • Ongoing mentorship and support from the FBYC

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Young people ages 13-19 - Proof of age, identity, or eligibility may be required.
- Individuals or classes, groups, or clubs
- Students worldwide (applications must be in English)
- New and emerging projects (less than two years old) conducted in part or in whole in 2022. Clubs or organizations that are more than two years old may apply so long as the proposed project is less than two years old.
- Applications may be submitted by an individual or by a group of unlimited size. Groups must select one group leader to serve as the primary contact.

Pre-Application Information:

The 2022 Future Blue Youth Council Fellowship Program application deadline is August 1, 2021 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time (ET). The online application platform will close automatically at the deadline. Please plan accordingly!

Selected grantees and their adult supporters will be notified via email before they are publicly announced on Bow Seat’s website in November 2021.

Only one application per student is permitted.

Grantees under 18 years of age must have their parent/legal guardian sign and complete the Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where lawful, the Publicity Release on their behalf.
