Grants of $5,000 to USA nonprofit organizations, grassroots organizers, community herbalists, and small businesses to support activities related to horticulture and environmental protection. Projects may fall into one of the following categories: herbalism and herbal education, accessibility of herbalism (especially to underserved communities), protection of native and medicinal plants, environmental stewardship, and organic and sustainable agriculture.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grassroots organizers, small businesses (that give back to their community), community herbalists, and nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Applicant must be 18+ years old and a legal resident of the U.S. with a valid SSN or EIN.
- Projects must take place within the U.S.
- No purchase or entry fee required.
- Small businesses must have annual revenue less than $250,000.
- The Foundation gives preference to nonprofit organizations who have been established for a minimum of two years.
- Research projects must have clearly defined goals and a plan to achieve them.
- Former Mountain Rose Herbs employees may apply.
- Nonprofits or individuals who have received a cash contribution from Mountain Rose Herbs in the past five years, aren’t eligible.
- All applications that meet requirements will be judged fairly based on merit by a team at Mountain Rose Herbs.
- Winners may be required to sign a liability and publicity release.

- Religious groups
- General fund drives
- Endowment funds
- Fundraising events
- Event sponsorships

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are being accepted now through August 3, 2021 at 11:59 PM PST.

Winners will be contacted by September 17, 2021, and receive payment within 30 days of validation of their W9.

Everyone who provides an email address by September 30, 2021, whether they win or not.

In order to be considered, applicants must:

Complete and sign the Mountain Rose Herbs Grant Application (See "Apply Now" link below).
- Read and agree to the Official Rules.
- Create a video that is three minutes or less that describes your project and mission.
- Share your video on either Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or Twitter with the hashtag #grants4plants.
