Grants of up to $1,000 to Georgia schools and organizations to promote eligible sports programs for female players. Funding is intended to support the purchase of uniforms, equipment expenses, teaching aids, and entry fees for teams and groups that develop and advance the game of golf for amateur girl and women golfers throughout the State.

For over 90 years, the Georgia Women’s Golf Association (GWGA) has promoted the game of golf through organized play among female residents in Georgia. To help support this mission, the grant program provides financial assistance to organizations that also strive to develop, promote, and maintain golf programs for amateur female golfers throughout Georgia. These funds primarily go to school programs all around the state.

Estimated Size of Grant:

An organization may apply for one of the minimum $500 or maximum $1000 grants.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

An organization that promotes girls and/or women golf programs is eligible to apply for a grant.

Middle School, Junior High School, High School, and College and University Divisions may apply.

Pre-Application Information:

Return completed application and any supporting documentation (limit one page) by July 1st.

The GWGA Grant Committee will review the applications and the Board of Directors will vote to determine the Recipients receiving awards for the Grants. The GWGA Board will announce the recipients of the GWGA Grants in July at the Georgia Women’s State Amateur Champions Banquet. A Board member will notify The “Primary Application Contact” to inform them of the winning award. The Grant checks will be mailed/delivered after October 1, 2020 and picture(s) of the awarding of the Grant Funds will appear on the GWGA website.
