Grants of up to $20,000 to USA nonprofit organizations and schools in eligible locations for academic and arts education programs serving K-12 youth. Funding is intended to support programs that benefit underserved populations, including minorities and girls. Priority will be given to STEM programs. Applicants must be located within 30 miles of the funding source's selected areas of operations or benefit youth in those areas.

Eligible uses of funds are for program support only, with the exception of capital projects for libraries. Programs must serve more than 500 underserved youth in grades K-12 and have a proven track record of success.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants range between $5,000 and $20,000.

Term of Contract:

The foundation does not make multi-year commitments.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofits, public schools, and private schools may apply.

In the United States, nonprofits and private schools must have 501(c)(3) designation from the Internal Revenue Service. (Not applicable to public schools.)

In Canada, nonprofits and private schools must provide documentation that enables the Foundation to determine that the organization is the equivalent of a U.S. public charity.

The following are not eligible for grants:
- Individual applicants or individual pursuits
- Political causes, candidates or lobbying efforts
- Programs or organizations outside the United States or Canada
- Operating expenses
- Capital projects (except libraries)
- Projects of religious denominations
- Advertising
- Sponsorships
- Service clubs, fraternal organizations, or third-party fundraisers
- Travel for individuals or groups
- Conventions, conferences, seminars, or other special events
- Mentoring, leadership, stewardship, or other social development programs
- Programs that include age groups outside the K-12 criteria

Pre-Application Information:

Applications need to be submitted for review by the 1st of February, May, August, and November. Applicants will be notified of the board's decision within 30 to 60 days.

Funding will not be provided more than once per calendar year to the same organization and we do not make multi-year commitments.
